UI_UX Designer

The person

We’re looking for a highly creative individual, with a keen eye for detail, passionate about designing web applications that customers love. With experience in React (or a similar framework), you’re capable of translating those ideas into reality, creating intuitive, user-friendly interfaces that help our customers in their mission for network resilience.

You should be curious and proactive in your approach, always seeking out opportunities to explore new ideas and solutions. Instead of waiting for detailed instructions, you’ll take ownership of proposals and concepts, thriving on the challenge of making them a reality. The role

• Create high-quality UI designs, wireframes, and interactive prototypes for our software applications.
• Use React along with other front-end technologies to implement the designs you've created, ensuring seamless transitions between design and development.
• Work closely with developers to ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and provide design guidance throughout the development process.
• Ensure that designs are responsive and optimized for a variety of devices, including desktops, tablets, and mobile phones.
• Develop and maintain a consistent design system, ensuring UI components and patterns are reusable and scalable across the application.
• Continuously iterate on designs based on user feedback, analytics, and changing business needs, always striving for better user experiences.
• Participate in meetings with stakeholders to understand user requirements, design challenges, and product goals, and then translate them into compelling UI/UX solutions.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in front-end technologies and suggest improvements or changes to keep the product modern and competitive.
• Perform software testing and ensure quality assurance standards are met.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment where quick time-to-market is essential.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams to ensure alignment and smooth project execution.

Skills / Experience

• Strong portfolio showcasing your UI/UX design skills, with a focus on web applications and user-centric design.
• Solid experience with React and the ability to implement design concepts into code, ensuring functionality, responsiveness, and performance.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or Illustrator for wireframing, prototyping, and creating design assets.
• Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and preprocessor languages like Sass or Less for translating designs into production-ready code.
• Proficient in using Bootstrap to create responsive pages and designs.
• Experience in conducting user research, creating user personas, and developing user flows to inform design decisions.
• Familiarity with responsive web design principles and frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, Material-UI).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to tackle design challenges and offer creative, user-focused solutions.
• A keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to producing high-quality designs that meet user needs and technical requirements.
• Good understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies for collaborative development.
• Experience of working within either a start-up or agency environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with tools like InVision or Framer for creating interactive prototypes and animations.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Experience in Java and Spring Boot programming languages.
• Experience using Angular.
• Knowledge of AWS cloud services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
